Shohei Ohtani becomes the first player in MLB history to record at least 10 wins and 10 home runs in a single season since the mound was moved back to its current distance in 1893. Ohtani accomplished the feat on August 26, 2019, when he hit his 18th home run of the season and earned his 11th victory. The two-way star also became the first player to reach 10 wins and 10 home runs since Babe Ruth did it in 1918-19, though Ruth did it over two seasons.
