On August 4, 2019, Marcus Semien hit his 30th home run of the season, becoming the first shortstop in Athletics history to reach that mark. His two-run shot in the 6th inning off of Texas Rangers pitcher Mike Minor extended Oakland's lead to 5-2. Semien finished the game 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs. Austin Allen also contributed with a single and an RBI in the win.
