MAY 16, 1984 — After receiving AL MVP Award consideration in 1983, Carlton Fisk was slumping in the early part of the 1984 season. The star catcher entered the game against the Kansas City Royals with a paltry .167 batting average and was looking to get it going at the plate. Fisk did that and more in a historic game, tallying his first triple of the season en route to the cycle and a 4-for-5 game.
