Nick Kurtz added to his amazing rookie campaign with his first career grand slam in the Athletics 10-1 win over the Atlanta Braves. The young slugger’s latest homer was his 14th of the year, tying him for the lead among all MLB rookies. Kurtz’s 14 longballs are also the most by a franchise rookie before the MLB All-Star Game since Mark McGwire’s 33 in 1987.
