In an elimination game, the Oakland Athletics battled back from an early, 3-0 deficit to take the lead, 4-3, in the fourth inning. When the White Sox tied it up in the fifth inning, the Oakland Athletics grabbed the lead for good in the bottom half of the frame. After taking the lead, the team pieced together four shutout from relievers Lou Trivino, Jake Diekman, Joakim Soria and Liam Hendriks to seal their ALDS date with the Astros.
