Doubleheader games can certainly wear down a player, but it seems like that's when Nelson shifts into high gear. The 40-year-old slugger left the yard in both games of Tuesday's doubleheader matchup with St. Louis, the third time he's accomplished that feat this season. That makes him the first Twins player to homer in both games of a doubleheader three times in a season since the legendary Harmon Killebrew did it in 1964. His 15 homers this season place him in a three-way tie for most in the Majors.
