Carter Kieboom became the first Washington Nationals player to hit a walk-off home run in a regular-season game at Nationals Park since Anthony Rendon did it on July 27, 2019. The 22-year-old third baseman lined a 2-2 pitch from Arizona's Archie Bradley over the left-field wall to give the Nationals a dramatic 4-3 victory over the Diamondbacks on Aug. 23, 2019. Kieboom, who was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts before his heroics, celebrated with a fist pump as he rounded the bases. The win improved Washington's record to 75-59 and kept them in the hunt for a second straight NL East title.
