Mallex Smith hit a slow roller between the pitcher Nick Margevicius and Austin Hedges and looked ready to beat it out with his elite speed, but Hedges had other ideas. The catcher picked the ball up and delivered an off-balance throw to Eric Hosmer to get the speedy Smith out.
