JULY 12, 1997 — Making his first appearance as a visitor at Fenway Park, Roger Clemens did what the hard-throwing right-hander does best. After leaving the Red Sox for the division-rival Blue Jays, Clemens showed the team that drafted him what it was missing, striking out 16 batters over eight innings pitched. The dominant performance led the Blue Jays to a 3-1 win.
