Elias Diaz is the king of the MLB All-Stars. In his first MLB All-Star Game at-bat, the Colorado Rockies star stepped up to the plate to pinch-hit for his team. Trailing 2-1 in the eighth inning, the 32-year-old crushed a two-run homer, which lead to a National League victory. Diaz was the first player since Hank Blalock in 2003 to have a go-ahead home run in the eighth inning or later in their first MLB All-Star Game plate appearance. The slugger's heroics also earned him the Ted Williams MVP Award presented by Chevrolet. He is the first Colorado Rockies player to be honored.
