Trout broke a scoreless game in the top of the third with an RBI single that drove home Mookie Betts. The first-time World Baseball Classic participant came through again in the fifth, erasing a 2-1 Team Colombia lead with a two-run single off reliever Jasier Herrera and giving the red, white and blue an advantage they would not relinquish.
