Arizona Diamondbacks rookie Corbin Carroll came firing out of the gate in his Club's bout with the Detroit Tigers on Friday night. In the first inning, Carroll sent a two-out, solo home run over the right-field wall for the first run of the game, foreshadowing his power yet to come. Then, with two outs and bases loaded in the seventh, Carroll connected with a pitch from Tigers hurler Will Vest to belt the first grand slam of his Major League Baseball career. Carroll raised his average to .307 on the season, and naturally, takes home the lion's share of credit for his team's 11-6 victory.
