Rod Carew's 19-year-long career came to its fateful end. Carew played with the Minnesota Twins for the first 12 years of his career, before finishing his career out with the Angels. Incredibly, Carew was selected for the MLB All-Star Game an astonishing 18 times, missing the cut just once, in his final year. Carew's career was historic, as he joined the 3,000 hits club in his final season, and ended his career with an incredible .328 batting average.
