Nolan Ryan fired six innings of three-run ball and racked up seven punchouts to lead his team to an eventual 6-3 victory. Not only did Ryan earn his first winning decision of the 1983 season, but the right-hander became just the second pitcher in MLB history to tally 3,500 career strikeouts.
