Monday night's contest between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Los Angeles Dodgers ended as a morale-boosting 5-1 win for the host Pirates, and provided some personal history for rookie outfielder Jack Suwinski. The 23-year-old hammered his first big-league home run in the bottom of the eighth inning off Dodgers reliever Robbie Erlin, a 425-foot blast that extended the Pirates lead to 5-0. Suwinski's homer was part of a 15-hit onslaught against the first-place Dodgers.
