Expectations were great for Kyle Schwarber ahead of his debut for the Philadelphia Phillies. The Middletown, Ohio native had home crowd on their feet when he hit a home run at his first at bat on Friday afternoon. His success wasn’t limited to the first inning, as his third inning walk ignited Philadelphia’s offense to rally, leading to the new acquisition scoring the second run of the game. Schwarber’s showing, and incredible performances across the Philadelphia roster, culminated in a 9-5 victory over the Oakland Athletics.
