With the Baseball world already buzzing thanks to the Padres acquisition of starter Blake Snell earlier in the day, the team kept their foot on the gas, sending five players to the Cubs in exchange for starter Yu Darvish and catcher Victor Caratini. Darvish was outstanding in 2020, compiling an 8-3 record with a 2.01 ERA in 12 starts. The 34-year-old also finished fourth in the National League with 93 whiffs in just 76 innings.
