Jacob deGrom earned his first win of the season in his six-inning performance against the Colorado Rockies. For the second straight start, the two-time NL Cy Young Award winner matched his career high in strikeouts with 14. From innings two to four, deGrom rung up nine consecutive hitters, which was one short of the MLB record set by Tom Seaver in 1970. Jacob has now lowered his ERA to 0.45 with a WHIP of 0.70. Both marks are near the top of the League through the beginning of the 2021 season.
