Max Scherzer hurled an absolute gem in route to the Washington Nationals 1-0 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks. The three-time Cy Young Award winner went seven-scoreless innings, as he allowed just two free bases and racked up 10 strikeouts. His efforts on the mound yesterday placed him 22nd all-time for career strikeouts, passing MLB legend, Cy Young. Scherzer now has 2,808 career punchouts and is six away from passing Hall of Famer Mike Mussina.
