Mike Piazza crushed his 352nd career homer as a catcher to pass Carlton Fisk as the all-time leader for home runs as a backstop. Piazza went deep in his first at-bat of the contest, smashing an opposite-field homer off of the scoreboard at Shea Stadium. The home crowd erupted as Mike rounded the bases, and provided him with a well deserved standing ovation.
