Two days after Labor Day, Milwaukee Brewers star Robin Yount started against the Cleveland Indians just one hit shy of the 3,000-hits plateau. The Danville, Illinois, native accomplished this feat in the bottom of the seventh inning with a line drive over the second baseman's head from an offering by hurler Jose Mesa. At age 36, Yount became the third youngest member of the 3,000-hits Club, trailing only Hank Aaron and Ty Cobb.
