Trevor Hoffman ran out to the mound in the bottom of the ninth inning one save shy from becoming the first reliever to reach the 600-saves mark. The 42-year-old hurler from Bellflower, California, needed three outs against the backend of the St. Louis Cardinals lineup to secure this monumental achievement. After a lead-off single from Colby Rasmus, Hoffman induced a 4-6-3 double play to grab his 600th save. Trevor was carried off the field by his teammates while the crowd of 33,149 at Miller Park rose to their feet for a standing ovation.
