Tommy Lasorda captured his 1,000th career victory as a manager in the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies at Veterans Stadium. The 60-year-old skipper from Norristown, Pennsylvania, became the 6th MLB manager to reach this milestone. "I want to take this opportunity to thank all the guys who played for me, and I want to thank the people in the Dodgers front office who gave me the opportunity to manage and who gave me the players." Lasorda said.
