In the mid-summer contest between the Cleveland Indians and the Seattle Mariners, Alex Rodriguez stole his 30th base of the season to become the 20th player in MLB history to reach the highly coveted 30-30 club. Rodriguez accomplished this feat just three days after his 23rd birthday. Alex would go on to club 42 homers and steal 46 bags in 1998 and become one of four members in the ultra-exclusive 40-40 club.
