Corbin Burnes has officially entered uncharted waters after his dominant six scoreless innings pitched at Petco Park. Corbin is now the first starting pitcher in MLB history to start a season with 40 strikeouts without issuing a single walk. The record for starting pitchers was previously set by Adam Wainwright in 2013 when he started his season fanning 35 batters before issuing a walk. Burnes is also the first pitcher since 1901 to register 40 or more strikeouts and no walks in any four-start timeframe.
