Ronald Acuña Jr. is the first player in MLB history to record 40 home runs and 70 stolen bases in a single season. The Atlanta Braves outfielder accomplished the feat on September 24, 2023, becoming the fifth player in MLB history to join the 40-70 club. Acuña Jr. also became the first player to reach 40 home runs and 60 stolen bases in a season. He finished the year with a .337 batting average, 41 home runs, and 73 stolen bases, leading the Braves to the playoffs.
