Jose Altuve becomes the first player in Astros history to record 2,000 career hits. The second baseman reached the milestone with a single off of Texas Rangers reliever Ian Krol in the fifth inning of a 6-2 win at Minute Maid Park on June 20, 2019. Altuve entered the game with 1,999 career hits and needed just one to reach the mark. The 5-foot-6 superstar has been a consistent offensive force since debuting in 2011, winning the AL batting title in his rookie season and capturing back-to-back batting titles in 2014 and 2016. Altuve has been named to six All-Star teams and won the AL MVP Award in 2017.
