Josh James entered the game in relief of Zack Greinke, who gritted out 4 and 2/3 innings against a tough Washington Nationals lineup. James inherited two base runners and a matchup against the Ryan Zimmerman. The rookie right-hander did not shy from the spotlight, striking out the veteran and preserving the 4-1 lead. James was credited with his first World Series victory after the pivotal at-bat for his effort.
