Michael Brantley's ability to grind out hits in key spots once again surfaced as the veteran was responsible for multiple clutch RBI singles. The first of Brantley's important at-bats came in the third inning, tacking on a run to extend the team's lead to 2-0. After the Washington Nationals closed the gap to 2-1, Brantley came up with another huge RBI single to give the Astros some breathing room in an eventual 4-1 win.
