Sean Doolittle came into Game 1 of the World Series with the tying run at the plate and the Astros threatening to flex the late-inning heroics they have demonstrated throughout the Postseason. The left-hander escaped the jam by getting Michael Brantley to fly out to Juan Soto and then retired the Astros in order in the bottom of the ninth inning to secure the win for the Washington Nationals.
